PTAP artist Dede Brown exhibits in the UK

Bahamian Artist Dede Brown, along with UK artist Bettina Furnée, will show their work in a two-person exhibition entitled "Material Response" at the Ipswich Art School located in Ipswich, UK. This exhibition is the result of a three month Artists-in-Residence Exchange between The Bahamas and Ipswich via the Ipswich & Colchester Museums & A Fine Line Cultural Practice.

Material Response forms part of 'Stories of the World', one of the major projects at the heart of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad. Here Colchester & Ipswich Museums participate in a region-wide programme of international artist exchanges set up to inspire and challenge contemporary craft culture.

Artists Dede Brown and Bettina Furnée drew from their experiences to produce new work that explores and expresses the relationships between people, cultural artefacts and the negotiated territories of cultural identity.
